College Admissions

I specialize in assisting high school students in finding their voice, and best presenting themselves to colleges as a whole.  Applying to college can be a stressful process, and with the essay in particular, writing a personal memoir that sings–and stands out–is no easy feat. I am able to combine my background/education in journalism and marketing with experience writing fiction, in order to shape students’ interests and background into winning essays.  You, the student, are already awesome. I just help nudge your essay that extra mile to turn a “maybe” into a “yes”!

Primarily I work with clients through College Essay Advisors, an amazing essay consulting service run by a fellow BU alum who has over ten years of college admissions experience. 99% of CEA students get into at least one of their top three school choices.

I take on a limited number of private clients, depending on my commitments to College Essay Advisors. If you’re really keen on working with me on your essay during a high volume time of the admissions season (September-early November), I recommend going through CEA.

My primary experience is with the college admissions essay/supplements, and since 2014 I have assisted students in gaining admission to such institutions as UC Berkeley, UCLA, Yale, Harvard, Wellesley, Boston University, Northeastern, Emory, USC, UC Santa Barbara, UC Davis, UC Irvine, Emerson, Fordham, and Reed College.

Through my work with WriteGirl, which provides mentorship to under-served teenage girls in the Los Angeles area, I have developed a broader consulting skillset, including but not limited to forming a school list, finding scholarships, navigating financial aid, presenting a balanced activities list, explaining extenuating circumstances and, of course, writing school-specific supplemental essays.

If you’re looking for a broader range of college consulting, I am able to take on a limited number of such clients, starting in the Spring of the student’s junior year. My rates are reasonable/scaleable depending on needs and family situation.
